Two-Bit comes to visit Ponyboy. 2) What strange claim does Ponyboy make to Randy? Why? How does Randy respond? Ponyboy claims to have killed Bob, Randy's friend and a Soc. He does this because he wants to convince Randy that the fighting between the Greasers and the Socs is pointless and that they should stop the violence. Randy responds by admitting that he didn't like Bob and that he feels guilty for his role in the ongoing conflict between the two groups. He also expresses his desire to move on and leave the violence behind.
