What is the lifted condensation level? The lifted condensation level (LCL) is the altitude at which an air parcel becomes saturated and condensation begins to occur as it rises in the atmosphere 3. What is orographic lifting? Orographic lifting is the process by which air is forced to rise over elevated terrain, such as mountains, leading to condensation and cloud formation on the windward side 4.
