I interviewed Mr. Nicholas, owner of the JNA delivery company on 4464 Oak Moss Loop in Middleburg. His phone number is (910)-603-9068. Me: Mr. Nicholas, I'm so grateful you were able to make it to this interview in such short notice. This will definitely help for my economics class, so thank you so much. So, may I ask what inspired you to start your business? Mr. Nicholas: Well, I’m so glad I could help and to be honest with you the self wealth and independence is what inspired me most. Me: Oh, lovely. What products does your company offer? Mr. Nicholas: We don't really offer any at the moment but we offer an on demand carrier service. Me: Oh okay, how do you organize your business? Mr. Nicholas: After taking a close look at today’s carrier market, I came up with a more user friendly service. Me: That's actually really smart. So, what are the advantages and disadvantages to the way you organize your business? Mr. Nicholas: Disadvantages are definitely going to be the driving and me being on the interstate. As far as gas the prices are rising and I have bad PTSD from the war I was in so the interstate and I don't get along very well. Advantages would have to be just hotshot transport and package delivery. Me: Yes, I could definitely agree with you. The gas prices now are crazy, but all prices in general are going up. It's just crazy. And I’m sorry about the war thing. I hope it gets better. How do you determine how much to sell and what prices to charge? Mr. Nicholas: Thank you. Me: Of course! How does competition with other businesses affect your decisions? Mr. Nicholas: I just know, you know? With everything changing in the world today I want to make it easier and better for everyone. More friendly for everyone. But let's say one item is getting bought faster than others. I will definitely raise the price. Me: Agreed. How do you determine whether your business is successful? Mr. Nicholas: Just the sales, all based on how many deliveries I am able to make, and who orders. Me: Exactly. What advice would you give a young person who wants to start their own company? Mr. Nicholas: Never give up on something you want/believe in. Anybody can achieve something as long as they try. It is very much possible to have more than one job. Me: Wow, beautiful speech given. Lastly, the big question. So, I see in your business name it says “JNA '' what exactly does that mean? Mr. Nicholas: Great question. “JNA '' stands for my daughters' names. They are in the order of their ages as well. The full name is “JNA on Demand Delivery”. Me: Oh wow! That is so adorable. Well, I just wanted to say thank you so much for coming all the way out here today Mr. Nicholas. It was nice meeting you and hearing about your business, definitely keep up the good work. Have a good rest of your day! Answer this question in a detailed paragraph of at least three to five sentences: If you were to start your own business, what would it be and how would you organize it? How would competition affect you? Explain. If i could start my own business i would have a truck where i save dogs that are in danger. For example, dogs that are homeless, in the pound, and even the meat trades/festivals. I've always loved animals so much and just what really gets to me is the dogs how they can sit there and abuse them. Dogs are really food animals and dont deserve any of the mistreatment. I'll probably call it “Dog Risk Takers'' because you will be taking risks on a day to day basis. I would organize it by having a big truck with food, cages, first aid, medicine, leches, collars, etc. Anything that can help the dog in the moment and the long run I will have on that truck. I want the truck to at least be able to fit 4-6 dogs at a time. And have a spot where we drop them off and take care of them and try to get them to a better home, way better than a pound thought. We will also accept dogs if you like to turn them in. My competition would compete by me just being a competitive person and getting overwhelmed trying to top everyone else and their businesses.
