You will need a webcam* and a quiet room), and then you need to watch it and critique yourself. * The Dashboard in Big Interview will walk you through setting up your webcam, etc. * For this assignment you will use Big Interview (an online tool for interview practice) to record yourself (through a webcam) for a mock interview.  You will be using your webcam – so pick a block of time where you know you won’t be disturbed. If you do not have a webcam, plan ahead and borrow a friend’s.  You should dress up and do your best! (treat this as a real interview so you can really learn from it)  Choose a company or job to interview for – it will give you focus  Once you are done, watch yourself.  Complete the CRITIQUE listed on Blackboard and handed out in class for homework and turn in to me on the due date Record your Interview…… How to Use Big Interview: Step One: Getting Started   Use your webcam borrow a friend’s. Pick a time and place where you will not be disturbed. Go to Online Resources - choose “Big Interview”, create an account, and go to “Practice Interviews”. You can create an account – USE YOUR NORTHEASTERN EMAIL! Click on “Helpful Get Started Videos” on the Dashboard. It will walk you through all of the resources within the site. Also, check the “System Requirements” to be sure you have what is needed to do an interview. Step Two: Choose the following mock interview questions This website has lots of great questions that you can practice, but for this assignment you will need to do the “Mock Interview- General”. To get to this: Go to Practice (on top menu bar) “Practice Interviews”  Select General  select Top 10 Questions (choose standard, challenging or tough!) Step Three: Record Your Interview Hit Play under the interviewer to hear the question. Click record in the box with your face in it. Hit “Stop” and then “Save” when you are done. Your response will be recorded. You can redo the answer multiple times. (Later you will choose which one you like best and want to be sent to me) Continue until you have finished all of the required questions.     Step Four: Choose the recordings in which you did “the best job”, Upload & Share Interview    Click on “My Videos” Watch your recordings Choose your best answer to each question by clicking the box next to it Click “Share Selected”. A box will pop up. Put in r.westerling@notheastern.edu your TAs email, and your own email in the email box, and click send.   Give Yourself Feedback & Upload to Canvas…… Step Five: Watch, critique, and share your interview   Once you are done, watch yourself, and complete the “BigInterviewAssignment_SelfFeedbackForm_ToBeUploadedToBlackboard” that is posted on Blackboard for homework for class Don’t forget to add the text of the email you sent yourself with the link to the videos so that it is listed in the document you upload to Blackboard. Grading:  + (get to 100%) o o  Completing all 10 questions – 50% Your Self-Assessment – 50% - (don’t lose points!) o o Points deducted for any question that does not have a full 1-2 sentences for what you did well, or what you can improve Points deducted 5% of grade for each day late
