1. Martha and Trap-Ease America investors believe their innovative product is giving them a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To evaluate this opportunity, they will need some information. First, they have to figure out whether their target market needs this technology to get rid of mice. There are several ways to solve mouse problems. Their technology has to be more efficient than other technologies. They also need to focus on the differentiating factors of their product. The group would write its mission statement based on its organization’s purpose. The mission statement should be aligned with the organization’s purpose. As Trap-Ease America’s purpose is providing a product that gives an easy solution to the mouse problem every household faces, I would write the mission statement by aligning it to this purpose. 2. Martha targeted women. I don’t think only women are the best target market for mouse traps. Martha can target shopkeepers, warehouse owners, factory owners etc.They will need mouse traps to protect their products from mice. Hospitals also need mouse traps to keep the building clean. 3. The company has positioned itself as a safe and easy-to-use trap which won’t harm children or pets. The company can also position the product as a reusable mouse trap because users can use this trap again. 4. Trap-Ease has a differentiated product because it is a mouse trap that can be reused. It's also safe and easy-to-use. Moreover, it doesn’t create any mess. They are selling it in national grocery, hardware and drug chains. It is five to ten times more expensive than standard traps. So, the price is high. Lastly, they are promoting the product through trade shows and sales calls. The problem with this mix is that the price is too high. As it is expensive, many customers will look for alternative solutions. Also, their promotional strategy is costly and orthodox. 5. Trap-ease America’s competitions are traditional mouse traps and rat poisons.
