II. Significance of Small Enterprises • Small enterprises' pivotal role in national economic development. • Their widespread presence across the national territory. • Employment of a significant portion of the active population. • Nurturing entrepreneurial spirit and innovation. III. Autarchy • Self-sufficiency and economic autonomy, typically applied to a community or group of individuals. IV. Artisan Enterprise • Enterprises listed in the Artisan Enterprises Register (AIA) meeting specific criteria: 1. Operated by an individual (artisan entrepreneur) assuming full responsibility for management and direction, including associated burdens and risks. The entrepreneur predominantly engages in personal, often manual, work in the production process. It can also be part of a partnership or cooperative, provided that labor takes precedence over capital, and the majority of partners contribute their personal, often manual, labor to the production process. 2. Primarily engaged in producing goods or providing services. 3. Stays within defined size limits established by law, varying based on the nature of the activity and the number of employees (both employees and family members). V. Composite Enterprise • Enterprises combining characteristics of both provisioning and production enterprises. • Examples include small mercantile or artisan enterprises where familial labor is extensively utilized, and business administration intertwines with family dynamics. VI. Fiscal Definition of Small Enterprise • Fiscal definition of enterprises with annual revenues exceeding lire 780 million. • Benefiting from simplified accounting requirements compared to other enterprises.
