EYE IRRIGATION PRACTICUM PROCEDURE A. Pre-Interaction Stage 1. Greet/greet clients 2. Introduce yourself 3. Explain the purpose of the action 4. Explain the procedural steps 5. Ask the client's readiness 6. Wash your hands B. Orientation Stage 1. Greeting as a therapeutic approach 2. Explain the objectives and procedures for the action to the family/client 3. Ask the client for readiness before the activity is carried out C. Work Phase 1. Read tasmiyah 2. Maintain client privacy 3. Wash your hands 4. Prepare the client in a tilted position to the right 5. Place a pillow or towel under the patient's face 6. Install the base & plaster 7. Place the bent under the chin 8. Wear gloves 9. Clean the eyelid and eyelash lines with wet cotton wool 10. Fill the irrigation syringe or eye dropper 11. Stretch the lower and upper eyelids (conjunctival sac)with pressure on the protrusion of the eyebone under the eyebrow 12. Hold the irrigation syringe 2.5 cm above the inner canthus 13. Ask the patient to look up and slowly perform irrigation 14. Dry the eyelids with a cotton ball 15. Take out the mat 16. Take off gloves 17. Wash your hands D. Termination Stage 1. Tidying up clients 2. Evaluate actions 3. Read the tahmid and say goodbye to the client 4. Tidy up the tools 5. Wash your hands 6. Record activities on the nursing record sheet
