The main goal is to clean the environment from pollutants such as dangerous chemical compounds, heavy metals, oil and other dangerous substances. This method utilizes the ability of microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and algae to degrade or convert contaminants into safer or less dangerous forms. The bioremediation process can occur naturally in nature, but is often carried out actively by introducing or strengthening populations of beneficial microorganisms. The type of bioremediation can vary depending on the type of contaminant, environmental conditions, and scale of the project. Bioremediation methods include phytoremediation (using plants to clean soil and water), biostimulation (increasing the activity of existing microbes), bioaugmentation (adding new microorganisms to the environment), as well as other techniques. Bioremediation is an environmentally friendly approach in dealing with pollution, because it reduces the need for dangerous chemicals and processes that damage the environment. It is also often considered a more economical and sustainable alternative compared to other conventional methods. Following are some further points related to bioremediation: 1.
