The following are some important aspects about the role of plants in bioremediation: 1. Phytoremediation: Phytoremediation is a bioremediation technique that uses plants to remove pollutants from soil, water, or air. Plants used in phytoremediation are usually selected for their ability to accumulate pollutants in their tissues through processes such as phytoremediation and phytodegradation. For example, plants such as grasses, sorghum, and ferns are often used in phytoremediation due to their ability to absorb heavy metals from the soil. 2.
