Conformation of Cyclohexane :- CoH12: CH ↳ On examining Various hydrogen atom in different Conformation of cyclohexanes, it was found that there are two types of hydrogen atom in cyclohexane. a) Axial hydrogen (Ha) b) Equitorial hydrogen (He) ↳ Six hydrogen ring atoms Point Bidewise along the Plane of are called as equiturrial hydrogen. (He) ↳ The remaining six hydrogen atom lie above and below the plane of th of the ring. are Called as axial hydrogen (Ha) Each Carbon atom in different conformation of Cyclohexane Canny One axial and one equiturrial hydrogen atom. * Cyclohexane Contain Six no. of Carbon atorm and each of the Carbon attached to one another by Single Sigma bond and two more 't' atom. The internal augle of regular hexagon is 120° while bond augle in cyclohexane is about 109.5° (Td augle).. Therefore, the cyclohexane ring Produce non Plauer Conformation and different conformation in cyclohexane arre fossible due to C-c bond rotation. í Energy Profiler diagram of cyclohexane cau be Represented as- 146k3/me 1 Energy 29.7kJ/ml 23 kJ/mol Chair Conformation - It is the stable and Preferred Conformation of cyclohexane. In this Conformation, the electron Pair forming all the - bond are Perfectly staggered. Hence, this Conformation has minimum energy & represented as- In Chain Conformation, foure Carbon atom arre Co-plavar and oftier two are reside above and below the Plane. Boat Confuamation :- In this conformation, the hydrogen atorm on 4 Carbon atom (C2, C3, C5, C6) arre eclipsed. Due to this strain it is less stable than Chair Conformation and Cau be represented as- Twist boat Conformation :- In boat Conformation, if C2 and 3 atom are held in One hand and (s- atom in other and twist the molecule, then G-s Comes up and 3-6 goes down the Plane. Due to twisting, the flag Pole hydrogen move apart from each other and release some strain. This conformat -on is more stable thau boat Conformation. Half Chair Conformation :- In Chair Conformation, if one of the Carbon atom either above or below the Plane Pass towards the Plane then half Chair Conformation results. In this Conformation, 5 Carbon are Co-planar while remaining one is at either above or below the Plane. Due to the absence of. Symmetry and interaction between more no. of hydrogen atom in the Plane, it is liigely unstable Conformation.
