IMPACT OF THE COVID PANDEMIC ON SOCIETY In the past few months, people around the world have been shocked by a new virus. The virus that is being discussed a lot is the Corona virus or what is usually called COVID-19. This virus can be said to be a new virus, because specific treatments and drugs have not yet been found for this virus. This virus can be transmitted from animals to humans, or even from human to human. This virus is known to have started in Wuhan (China) at the end of 2019. The spread of this virus can be said to be very fast, because in the past few months, the corona virus or covid-19 has spread to various corners of the world. In Indonesia itself, this virus began to spread in March 2020. The initial symptoms that arise when infected with this virus are similar to the symptoms of influenza, namely fever, dry cough, sore throat and headache. For some people who suffer from this disease, the symptoms can be more severe, namely very high fever, mucous cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, leading to bronchitis and pneumonia. This virus can also make people affected by this virus worse, for example attacking people who have heart disease or are elderly. With this pandemic, I myself, as a student, have started carrying out all activities at home, since mid-March considering that the appeal to carry out online lectures has just begun. With this appeal, all students cannot carry out normal activities, both academic and other activities. Of course, this is very influential, especially for those of us who are used to doing various activities outside the home, whether studying or even just playing with friends. Of course, with this pandemic, it is not only me as a student who is disadvantaged, but many workers or even daily laborers are forced not to carry out activities that are their source of livelihood. Apart from that, many companies have experienced bankruptcy due to this pandemic. For this reason, as educated and knowledgeable citizens, let's fight COVID-19 together by carrying out various activities at home, not traveling if it is not urgent, not carrying out activities that can cause the situation to get worse in order to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, always taking care of cleanliness and health by always washing your hands, eating healthy food, exercising, and reducing physical contact with anyone
