Ponyboy thinks Johnny is like a Southern gentleman from Gone With the Wind because Johnny displays qualities of bravery, chivalry, and gallantry, especially in his actions during the church fire and his concern for others despite his own injuries. Ponyboy admires Johnny's selflessness and courage, which he associates with the characteristics of Southern gentlemen depicted in the novel. 2) Why does Dally want out of the hospital so quickly? Dally wants out of the hospital quickly because he is anxious to participate in the rumble between the Socs and the Greasers. He is eager to confront the Socs and seek revenge for what happened to Johnny, despite his own injuries. Dally is driven by his desire for vengeance and his loyalty to his gang, and he is willing to risk his own health and safety to support them.
