Based on the data and graph we can predict that at higher temperatures the hardness will continue to decrease and at a temperature like 1500°F we can predict that the hardness will be around .10 based on the negative relationship in the graph. We also can predict that at both of these temperatures of (down to 0 °F) and (up to 2800 °F ) we will not be able to create dents due to the low temperature making the steel be very hard unable to be dented and at a very high temperature, almost liquid, will not create a dent due to the change of physical structure and liquidness. So due to the dents being hard to make, it shows that the hardness for the lower temperature will be at its full potential of hardness and the steel at the highest temperature will be at its lowest on the hardness scale. Overall, this experience was great but can be performed better especially in a classroom setting where we can have hands-on work and see this data come to life in a way that can make sense to us. Being able to see these dents ourselves and how much temperature can have effect on steel by just looking at the hammer hitting it can broaden our understanding on how much temperature can have effect on the hardness of a material.
