Bullying and the Negative Impacts on Children Page 2 of 12 Three Ways Bullying Can Negatively Impact Children (Bullying, The Pain, Effects and the Suicide) Bullied, The Life What is Bullying? It is when a person performs a consistent act of harming another without any regard for them. Bullying has become a devastating act where the children are at the center. It is a reality in which pains and sometimes one taking his or her life after being unable to withstand being bullied any longer. Varying stats, (Arbitrage, 2021), revealed bullies are more likely to be male figure in most cases, while females are considered mean girls, were once bullied. The effects of physical bullying upon a child’s life can lead to depression, stress, withdrawal, physical, and emotional problems, which could destroy them. The Physical Health Page 3 of 12 The Pain The physical aspect of bullying in children tend to grow up with more anxiety issues than any normal child, with less self-assurance and requires more mental health services throughout life, than those who are bullied into adulthood. These are physical attributes. Some may find help at that times while others will choose to live through it simply because they have not found any help. Conclusion Finally, bullying should never be a thing, accepted or allowed in the lives of anyone, whether children or adult. It is never okay to bully another person because it will not make you popular to be with the cool kids. Remember, everyone has a choice to be the person that is confident yet humble to befriend anyone or everyone. Page 8 of 12 Mental Health Problems Those adolescents who are victims of bullying often show signs of lower self-esteem, a more negative look on the world, depression, and suicidal thoughts. These effects carry throughout childhood and into adulthood causing those who have been bullied to have a higher rate of mental health problems (Fleisher & Page 9 of 12 Schwartz, 2003). Problems with mental health can include stress and anxiety that can lead to heart problems and mental health decline later in life (Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs (ASPA), 2020). Early intervention is key in helping contain mental health issues from becoming Page 10 of 12 bigger issues that affect quality of life. Bullying has been an issue that has been around for years, it has only been in the most recent 20 years or so that the issue has been brought to the media, largely in part because it has changed so much. The important thing to remember is bullying can have long-term effects, leaving the victim with long-lasting mental health, physical manifestations and longlasting effects that have 3 mpact on daily life. With anti-bullying campaigns, Page 12 of 12 greater acceptance, diversity, and community unity bullying can be stopped and the negative effects on the world. 4
