The girls were watching the movie alone because they left their Soc boyfriends to get away from them for a while. 4) What happened to Johnny that made him so nervous? Johnny is nervous because he was recently jumped by a group of Socs, who severely beat him up. This incident left him feeling vulnerable and scared, especially considering the ongoing tension between the Greasers and the Socs.
