Judaism- Orthodox, Conservative reformed and Progressive. Buddhism - Theravada, Mayahana, Tibetan. Hinduism-varies depending on the worship of the different Gods. The most popular are-vaishnavism and Shaivasm. Religious divisions There are many reasons for there being subgroups in these religions. In some cases, divisions occur because of location, language or culture. However, in many cases, an event, a person or a disagreement led to a split, e.g. The reformation in Christianity. This can lead to problems between the subgroups and has often been very divisive. Most followers feel that their branch, group or sect is the correct way to be a hindu, jew, buddhist, christian or muslim. Groups may find it hard to work together and to accept their differences. The best way to overcome the division is to communicate, to discuss, to understand and to find common ground: to realise that each is just a different way of following a religion.
