Motivational Speech Deciding to go back to school, more importantly going to UMGC was one of the best decisions I could’ve made. Initially I was afraid that I couldn’t balance working full time and taking online courses. However, my perspective has changed since I began taking courses at UMGC. I’ve learned that with a little determination, hard work and a strong support system cheering you on, anything is possible. What I’ve learned about myself during this process is that I enjoy learning new concepts, interacting with classmates and sharing ideas. The purpose for me deciding to go back to school was because after raising my family, I felt it was time to make myself a priority. Going back to school to complete my education the next step on my path to achieving my goals. Obtaining a degree in Management Studies at UMGC was vital because courses such as Managing Teams in Organizations and Leadership for the 21 st Century will give me the foundation needed for a career as a Certified Professional Coach. A degree in Management Studies is exciting because it offers an opportunity for a myriad of other career options to include Human Resources and Accounting. Achieving a degree in Management Studies is imperative for my growth and development. In addition, the degree will provide me the tools and skillsets needed to achieve my goals for career advancement after graduation. The amazing professors at UMGC are only one part of my support system to achieving my educational goals. The support I’ve received from academic advising and career services have been vital components to achieving my educational success and ensuring that I receive a quality education and career counseling before and after graduation.
