CONTRACT LAW Batsakis v. The offer was made to the defendant, but he did not take advantage of it when it was provided to him. Batsakis pursued legal action in an effort to get payment for the agreement that was finally consummated in order to fulfill his obligations under the deal. In her answer, Demotsis asserted that the agreement was illegal owing to a lack of regard since the true price of the 500,000 drachmas that Batsakis had provided to her was just $25. In other words, Demotsis claimed that the agreement was unconstitutional because there was insufficient consideration. In other words, Demotsis argued that the agreement could not be upheld since there was not enough of a financial value exchanged for it. In other words, Demotsis contended that the agreement shouldn't be maintained since there wasn't enough of a financial incentive for either side to uphold their half of the deal. Consequently, Demotsis believed that the agreement should not be sustained.
