Four Classification of Information to Prove an Answer Choice is Correct: 1. The actual statements of the stimulus o You can use the statements of the author without reservation. 2. Commonsense Assumptions: o they expect you to make certain assumptions that would reflect information that the average person would be expected to know.  Example: common knowledge that Canada and China are on different continents 3. Consequences of the statements presented in the stimulus:  Two or more pieces of information in the stimulus can be combined to logically produce what appears to be a "new" idea but is not.  Example: stimulus might say: a famer has two fields of corn, and three fields of carrots. Answer choice: refers to the farmer's five crops.  This is not new information given the nature of the statements in the stimulus. 4. Information under the "umbrella" of the statements in the stimulus a. Certain concepts act as an umbrella, and they automatically imply other things i. Example: discussion of "all animals" thereby includes cats, zebras, lizards etc. 1. Not explicitly mentioned in the stimulus by can still validly appear in the right answer choice.
