LSAT PREP Sage Training – Week 1 MUST BE TRUE & MOST STRONGLY SUPPORTED QUESTIONS Must be True Questions:  Require you to select an answer choice that is proven by the information presented in the stimulus. o Could be a paraphrase of part of the stimulus. o Logical consequence of one or more parts of the stimulus  You must find the proof that supports your answer in the stimulus - Fact Test  The correct answer can always be proven by referring to the facts stated in the stimulus. o Avoid the answer choices that could possibly occur or are likely to occur. o Do not bring information from outside the stimulus.  All the information necessary to answer the question resides in the stimulus.  These questions require you to read the text and understand the facts and details that logically follow. o What did you read in the stimulus and what do you know based on that reading? Examples of Must be True Question Stems:  If the statements above are true which one of the following must also be true?  The statements above if true which one of the following conclusions can be properly drawn based on it?  If the information above is correct, which one of the following can be properly inferred? Paraphrasing with Must be True Questions:  When you judge an argument you tend to react with agreement or disagreement depending on the nature of the conclusion  Must be true stimuli are fact sets. Most Strongly Supported Questions:  Similar to must be true questions.   These questions reduce the degree of certainty needed in the correct answer choice by substituting the phrase "most strongly supported" These questions no longer must pass the fact test. o The right answer will be the one that makes the most sense based on the stimulus. o You are looking for the best answer proven by the stimulus; however, the answer is extremely given.
