MISSION: To address the social determination of health through integrated
community-centred care, education, research and community organizing.
VISION: Healthcare that is a liberatory force for patients, practitioners, and communities
alike.
Health is political: At HAMSMaRT, the relationships
are with one another, the people and organizations that
work with foundation to the better world they are
building together.
HAMSMaRT currently has four areas of clinical work.
1. We provide primary care to the Native
Women’s Centre transitional housing residents
2. We provide outreach medical care to people
deprived of housing
3. We operate a safer supply clinic, S.A.S.S., for
people who use drugs
4. We offer drop-in psychiatry care to people who
use drugs.
Clinical Work: HAMSMaRT is actively involved in
four key areas of clinical work:
Primary Care: We deliver comprehensive primary
care services to residents of the Native Women’s
Centre transitional housing, ensuring their unique health needs are met.
Outreach Medical Care: The Team provides essential medical services to individuals
experiencing homelessness, bringing care to those who need it most.
Safer Supply Clinic (S.A.S.S.): We run a clinic that offers a safer supply of drugs to users,
aiming to reduce harm and promote health among this vulnerable population.
Drop-in Psychiatry: We offer accessible psychiatric care on a drop-in basis to individuals
who use drugs, addressing their mental health needs without barriers.
Core Beliefs: HAMSMaRT’s approach is grounded in the conviction that healthcare should
be inclusive, compassionate, and transformative. We strive to break down barriers to care,
advocate for marginalized populations, and drive systemic change through innovative
programs and community partnerships.
Commitment to Change: Through integrated approach, HAMSMaRT is committed to not
only providing immediate healthcare solutions but also to fostering long-term improvements
