Reproduction: cell division, zoospore, sex. E. Class examples: Coccoliths. IV. Class: Tribophyceae - yellow-green algae Fresh or marine. Unicellular or colonial, branched/unbranched. Characteristics: Pigments: chlorophyll a + c1, c2, accessory pigments: diadinoxanthin + vaucheriaxanthin. Starch: leucosin. Motility: only motile through their reproduction. Wall: cellulose and pectin. Reproduction: asexually by cell division. V. Class: Eustigmatophyceae Eye Spot Unicellular or Filamentous. Eustigmatophyte Pigments: chlorophyll a, β-carotene, violaxanthin, vaucheriaxanthin. Starch: leucosin. Motility: non-motile, but zoospores are uniflagellated. Wall: unknown composition. Eyespot: orange-red. Reproduction: cell division or zoospores. VI. Class: Raphidophyceae Unicellular flagellates. Reproduction: cell division. Pigments: chlorophyll a. Starch: probably a lipid. VII. Class: Bacillariophyceae - diatoms Found everywhere. "Grass of the ocean." Epitheca and Hypotheca. Arranged: reproduce sexually. Order: Centrales - radially arranged. Order: Pennales - generally bilateral symmetry and possess fewer chloroplasts.
