Please read Digesting the digestive system 1. Interact with the digestive system model to learn more about the organs of the digestive system. Use the model to follow a piece of food as it moves through the digestive tract. List the structures and describe the processes that take place as the food moves through them. Oral cavity - also known as the mouth, which is where food enters. Contains our teeth, tongue, and saliva, which help digestion. Esophagus - A muscle that transports food from your mouth to your stomach. Stomach - Muscular sac that includes acids and enzymes. Your stomach contracts to break down food. Large intestine - Reabsorbs water and forms feces to be let out from your body. Large intestines are smaller and wider than small intestines. Record information about the results of Anna’s toxicology screening and identity of the pill in her stomach contents in the Toxicology Results section of the autopsy report Conclusion Questions: 1. How might toxicology be important to other biomedical professionals outside of forensics? Can let other professionals rethink if the normal dosage is safe. 2. How is a forensic chemist similar to and different from a forensic toxicologist? A forensic chemist is similar to a forensic toxicologist because they both study chemical properties and must know how to include that information to an investigation.
