Psychological Needs of Infants It includes need for security, love, warmth, affection, comfort, acceptance, nourishment, rest, understanding, and physical contact. Growth and development of infant is all round and also unique. Accurate observation of the infant is important. The movement of mood of the infant can be measured. During care case, certain measures, the children also should be given adequate love, affection, and care. Early Childhood (2-6) The growth rate is slow in most areas during this period. During this period, learns to walk, run, jump, and balance. He/she develops fine motor skills and muscular coordination. He/she also develops sensory perception of size and learns to speak. He/she is capable for practical thinking and problem-solving. Solving Simple Problems Learn how to dress and care. Psychological Needs It includes love, reasons, security, acceptance, encouragement, protection, discipline, nutrition, etc. Role of a Nurse Accurate information is important to find out any physical and emotional problems. Provide love and affection. The nurse should be patient in dealing with children. The child should be encouraged to develop a spirit of independence. Allow the child to participate in care and help wherever possible.
