Date: April 7, 2525 Planet: Pinky Star: Vogue We landed on the planet Pinky early in the morning. The sun here, which the locals call Vogue, was rising slowly over the green hills. Everything felt calm and peaceful. Pinky is a rocky planet, but it’s full of life — soft grass, low hills, and the perfect temperature around 60 degrees Fahrenheit. There are no big dangers here. No storms, no strange weather. It actually feels a lot like a cool spring day on Earth. I was exploring the hillside near our lander when I first saw them — the creatures. At first, I thought it was just part of the hill. Then it moved. Slowly, a small round creature popped its head up from behind a rock. It was about the size of a basketball, with a smooth, shiny body that reflected the green around it, making it hard to see. It had big, black eyes and long, thin legs, kind of like a mix between a frog and a spider — but not scary. It looked… curious. I stayed very still. It looked at me, then made a soft clicking noise, like tapping two small stones together. I didn’t know what it meant, but I tried to copy the sound with my own gear. It tilted its head at me, then clicked again. I think it was trying to talk to me. More of them came out after that. They moved slowly, almost carefully, never in a rush. Some came close, but none of them touched me. They circled around me and my friends, watching us. It was like they were trying to figure us out. Linassa and Fabian stood nearby, watching in total silence. We were amazed. I called the creature “Blinker,” because it kept blinking those big black eyes and glowing softly, like it had a light inside its body. The glow would change color depending on what it was doing — green when it was calm, blue when it looked curious, and once it flashed red when a loud sound startled it. The red didn’t last long, though. It didn’t seem aggressive, just nervous. One of the Blinkers started to follow me as I walked. It stayed just a few feet behind. It didn’t try to hurt me or get too close — just followed. Maybe it was watching me, or maybe it was protecting me. I couldn’t tell. I almost didn’t want to leave. The environment on Pinky is very safe for humans. There’s no harmful radiation, the air is thin but breathable with light help, and the gravity is just a bit stronger than Earth’s, but not uncomfortable. We could build a base here, maybe even live here long-term. It’s the first planet I’ve found where I could really imagine people from Earth moving to. This discovery means everything. We’ve always wondered if life existed outside of Earth — and now we know. The Blinkers are not only alive, but possibly intelligent. They try to communicate. They’re peaceful. They didn’t run or attack. They just… welcomed us. Or at least, accepted us. This changes how we see ourselves. Earth is no longer the only world with life. We’re not alone. I think people back home will feel hope and maybe a little fear — but also excitement. Cultures will write stories about the Blinkers. Scientists will want to study them. And some people will just be happy to know that life finds a way to exist — even on a planet orbiting a star named Vogue, far away from our Sun. As I write this, I can still see the small glow of Blinker’s body, standing at the edge of the landing site, watching us get ready to leave. Part of me doesn’t want to go. But I know this is only the beginning. We’ve opened a door to a bigger universe, and Pinky is just the first step. Explorer Chloe, signing off.
