Cel mbrane Coloring Worksheet Composition of the Cell Membrane & Functions The cell membrane is also called the Plasma membrane and is made of a phospholipid bilayer. The phospholipids have a hydrophilic (water attracting) head and two hydrophobic (water repelling) tails.
