Medical Rx for associated problems: I) Spasticity: 1) Medical: → Diazepam → Baclofen → Phenol → Botulinum toxin A 2) Surgical: → Tenotomy → Neurotomy II) Seizures: → Phenytoin → Carbamazepine III) Reflex sympathetic dystrophy → sympathetic blocks → corticosteroids Surgical Rx: 1) internal carotid endarterectomy 2) percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (stenting) Cerebral palsy: A disorder of movement and posture caused by non-progressive injury to the immature brain. (or) A persistent but not unchanging disorder of posture & movement, caused by damage to the developing nervous system before or during birth or in the early months of infancy. Introduction: → cerebral means brain → palsy means weakness or problems with using the muscles
