Unit 2: The Influence of Language and Culture on Identity Amigo: Parte de ser hispano es poder hablar espanol. Yo: Es verdad que el español es una parte muy grande de la cultura. Amigo: Si, saber otros lenguajes no es solo parte de nuestra identidad pero también nos trae muchas oportunidades. Yo: ¿Tú crees? ¿Me puedes dar ejemplos? Amigo: Si por supuesto, saber español nos da oportunidades en el trabajo y nos da la oportunidad a conocer más gente también. Listen: listen to music, podcasts, and audio in Spanish! Adding some upbeat, fun music in Spanish and incorporating language radio stations into your daily routine can be a good decision. 3. Accents: don’t stress out about them! The graders care much less about them than you think they do! They want to see solid arguments and backed up thesis. 4. Vocabulary: make sure to brush up on your vocabulary! You might not be able to think of the words you want to say so use flashcards like your life depends on it! Transitions: using transition makes your essay flow better! Make sure to write amazing topic sentences and top it off with transitions! 2. Sentence Structures: use complex sentence structures! However, it is important to use these sentence structures correctly. 3. Sources: incorporate sources! Include the information in the sources and be sure to mention the citations! 4. Subjunctives: include a subjunctive when you can! This can showcase your skills and show graders you know what you are doing! 5. Be Clear: this writing is persuasive, you have to be clear! You need to support a clear position so you can strengthen your argument!
