ADHD complications ADHD that does not receive immediate treatment can make life difficult for children and teenagers. They can experience the following conditions:  Children often have difficulty in class, leading to academic failure and judgment by other children and adults.  Tend to have more accidents or injuries than children who do not.  Having poor self-esteem.  Having difficulty interacting and being accepted in peer and adult friendships.  Are at increased risk of alcohol and drug abuse and other delinquent behavior. Not only that, ADHD can also make adult life more difficult, such as:  Poor academic and career performance.  Become unemployed.  Having problems with finances.  Often in trouble with the law.  Addiction to alcohol and other substance abuse.  Frequent vehicle and other accidents.  Unstable relationships, both with partners, friends and family.  Poor physical and mental health.  Bad self-image.  Had a suicide attempt.  ADHD Prevention Unfortunately, there is no specific prevention that can be done against ADHD. However, parents can reduce the risk of this mental disorder by starting as early as possible during pregnancy. Pregnant women should not smoke, consume alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs, and as much as possible keep their children away from cigarette smoke and exposure to toxic substances that can endanger health. Another way, namely:  Consume nutritious and balanced foods that can influence brain development and cognitive function. Avoid foods high in sugar and junk food and make sure to include fruits, vegetables, whole grains and healthy proteins in your daily diet.  Even though you are pregnant, mothers still need to be active. Light exercise has been proven to prevent complications during pregnancy.  Reduce stress by doing hobbies, light exercise or practicing relaxation techniques.
