What is the poet singing about? The poet is singing about the creation of the world by God, the beauty of the earth, and the creation of humankind 4. Who is the monster Grendel descended from? Grendel is descended from the biblical figure Cain, who was cursed by God for murdering his brother Abel 5. What happens when Grendel enters Herot for the first time? When Grendel enters Herot for the first time, he slaughters thirty of Hrothgar's warriors while they sleep 6. How long does Grendel terrorize the mead-hall Herot and King Hrothgar and his people? Grendel terrorizes Herot and King Hrothgar's people for twelve years 7. When no solution to the Grendel problem can be found, who do some of the warriors turn to for help?
