Use your knowledge of world history to answer all parts of the question that follows. a) Explain one way that women’s lives changed in the West in the twentieth century. During World War I for the first time, all of the men were out at war leaving no laborers to hire. Companies that previously limited employment to men now had opened their doors to women seeking jobs. While their pay wasn’t exactly equal, employment opportunities for women increased during the 20th century. b) Explain one way that women’s lives changed in the twentieth century beyond the West. In 1918 Britain, all women gained the ability to vote at the age of 30 with proper qualifications. 10 years later in 1928 women’s voting age was lowered to the mens age of 21 to vote. c) Explain one reason why the twentieth century was or was not an “Age of Women’s Liberation” in either Western or non-Western world history. The 20th century was the Age of Women’s liberation. In the United States large vocal protests for equal rights. With this large scale movement gaining traction and attention all over the world, countries started to write laws for women rights. Though the process was slow, it was greatly impactful.
