Foreign Body in the Noses Occurs in small children Small object may lodge in the nose Sharp object may damage the tissue of the nose Symptoms and Signs: Difficulty in nasal breathing Sneezing Discharge Pain Nasal Bleeding Emergency Care: Do not attempt to remove the foreign body. Tell the patient to breathe through the mouth. Foreign body in throat: It can be: fish bone, buttons, coins, etc. Person is uncomfortable and complains of difficulty in talking and swallowing, breathing. Signs and Symptoms: Choking Coughing Wheezing, high-pitched sound First Aid: Give the comfortable position (sitting) Do not make the person to cough, potato, pop bread If the sharp object swallows like safety pin, needle - go to the hospital Reassure the patient Don't attempt to remove the foreign body Foreign Bodies in the Throat Choking: Breathing is difficult because of small objects stuck in the throat. Wheezing: High-pitched sound while breathing. Foreign Bodies in the Stomach Foreign bodies are large objects that can be mistakenly ingested or intentionally swallowed. Signs and Symptoms Pain Swelling Loss of appetite Nausea Vomiting Fever, blood in stool, diarrhea Loss of appetite - don't feel hungry Weakness First Aid Give a blow to stand to the side One hand on the chest, another on the back Give abdominal thrusts 5 times
