Demonstration Speech Outline General Purpose: To demonstrate Specific Purpose: To demonstrate to my audience how to slap hit during a softball game. Central Idea: It is important to use this skill during a softball game and this project is one of the best ways to so. INTRODUCTION: I. My favorite skill in softball is slapping, it plays a major role in a softball game. This skill was requested to me by one of my coaches. This skill is an effective way gain an easy way on base. Three steps of slap hitting are having a good athletic stance, perform your crossover, and driving the ball on the ground into the five-six hole. Transition: Let’s start by doing a step by step. Body: I. The first step is to have a good athletic stance. A. You want to make sure your knees are bent, your body is balanced, and your light on your feet. Transition: The next step plays a major role into slapping. II. The next step is the most important step, performing your crossover. . A. This has several steps that play a major part into performing your crossover. 1. The first step is sliding your right foot to your left foot. Doing this creates momentum. 2. The next step is crossing your left foot over your right. While doing this make sure your front elbow is loading. 3. The third step is making sure you stay athletic and have your chest facing the ball. Transition: The last and final step is performing the task of hitting the ball. III. This step is hitting and driving the ball into the ground. A. This steps also has several steps to perform your task. a. The first step is keeping your chest towards the ball b.
