      History of Pharmacy Hippocrates (450-370 BC) was a Greek doctor who was appreciated for introducing pharmacy and medicine scientifically he made a systematic treatment and compiled descriptions of hundreds of types of medicines and was also named the father of medical science. Dioscorides (1st century AD), a Greek doctor who was a botanist, who was the first person to using plant-growing science as applied pharmaceutical science, the result of his work is De Materia Medika. further developed the science of pharmacognosy. Medicines made by Dioscoridaes include napidium, opium, ergot, hyosciamus, and cinnamon. Galen (120-130 AD), a Greek doctor and pharmacist with Roman citizenship, who created a system of medicine, physiology, pathology that formulated rules that were widely followed for 1500 years, he was the author of the most books of his time, he had won awards for 500 books on medical-pharmaceutical science and 250 other books on philosophy, law and grammar. the results of his work in the field of pharmacy, descriptions of many drugs, mixing methods, etc., are now commonly called 'galenic' pharmacy. As the types of medicines increase, the complexity of the science of medicines and their handling and use, previously this work is still studied and carried out in medicine. In 1240 the German king Frederick II officially separated pharmacy from medicine, so that now it is known as pharmacy and medicine. The next influential figure was Philippus Aureolus Theopharastus Bombastus von Hoheaheim, his name is long and complicated hahaha, he is also known as Paracelcus (14931542 M) a doctor and chemist, who changed the paradigm of pharmaceutical science which was initially based on plant science into a profession closely related to chemistry, Paracelcus also succeeded in preparing chemical drugs which were used as internal medicine to fight certain diseases. Towards the 20th century, early pharmaceutical research began to be carried out : Karl Wilhelm (1742-1786), a Swiss pharmacist, discovered chemicals such as lactic acid, citric acid, oxalic acid, tartaric acid and arsenic acid. Scheele also succeeded in identifying glycerin, finding a new way to make calomel and benzoic acid and discovering oxygen. Friedrick Seturner was a German pharmacist (1783-1841) who succeeded in isolating morphine from opium. In 1805, Seturner also recommended a series of isolations from other plants as well. Joseph Caventou (1795-1877) and Joseph Pelletier (17881842) combined their expertise in isolating quinine and synconine from syncone. Joseph Pelletier (1788-1842) and Pirre Robiquet (1780- 1840) isolated caffeine and robiquet himself separated codeine from opium. One by one, chemical substances are isolated from plants and identified as the substances responsible for the plant's medical activities. In Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries, they were both highly valued for their abilities.
