Cardiac Catheterization w/ coronary angiogram cardiac catheter - insert to peripheral artery dye visualization visualizing obstructions in CA femoral artery - brachial artery inject iodine dye PRE-OP NPO → prepped for surgery Consent → based on amount of iodine Obtain baseline VS & ht./wt. → to give Allergies: iodine, seafood → antihistamine + steroids If rxn during surgery → stop Metformin → oral hypoglycemic → hold med. (1-3 days after procedure) Metformin + iodine → lactic acidosis → acute kidney injury Open IV line Sterile INTRAOP Supine Position a. Flushing sensation b. Feelings of warmth c. Urge to void d.
