Answer: One way is if they are able to reproduce and have offspring they are considered to be same populations. Question 2 Donkeys and horses can mate and produce mules, which are infertile. Using the biological species concept, explain whether horses and donkeys are the same species or not. Answer: So they are not the same species as at some point the genetics will be so different that when they mate they will produce an infertile offspring. Postzygotic: Hybrid inviability, hybrid sterility, hybrid breakdown Question 4 Ratites contain flightless birds on many continents, such as Ostrich, Emu, Kiwi and more. If they share a common ancestor, how do you think they evolved on different continents? Answer: I think its on how they species got there to begin with, they are adapting to a new environment. So we can see they flouring into new species by adaption to its new area.
