Dislocation
Dislocation definition:
Dislocation is a separation of two bones at a joint. The most common dislocation occurs at the shoulders, knees, and hips, but can also happen at the elbows and fingers.
Causes:
Falls, accidents, high-speed sports
Signs and symptoms of dislocation:
Pain
Numbness
Swelling
Limited ability to move
Visible deformity
Management of dislocation:
Advise the patient to take rest.
Start the analgesics (example: diclofenac)
Canviss the patient to do the exercises.
Apply the cold application to the injured area.
Muscle Injury
Definition:
A stretching or tearing of a muscle or tendon, connecting muscle to the bone.
Signs and Symptoms:
Pain, swelling, limited ability to move
Loss of sensation, discoloration, spasms
Bruising
Muscle Injury Management:
Take rest
Ice compression
Physical therapy
Massage (gentle massage)
