Practice in Midwifery Services Midwifery practice services are an inseparable part of hospital services. Therefore, midwives are responsible for providing optimal midwifery services in improving and maintaining the quality of midwifery services provided 24 hours on an ongoing basis. Midwives must have professional or global skills. So that midwives can carry out their functional roles well, it is necessary to have a socio-cultural approach that can bridge their services to patients. An optimal midwifery service program can be achieved with professional and reliable midwivesprovide midwifery services based on predetermined professional rules, such as having extensive knowledge about midwifery, and applied by midwives in approaching midwifery care to the community. Midwives can demonstrate their autonomy and professional accountability, through an accurate social and cultural approach. There are several forms of approaches that can be used or applied by midwives in approaching midwifery care to the community, for example community groups, traditional arts, religion and banjar systems. This aims to make it easier for the public to accept that the service or information provided by officers is not something taboo but something that is real or true. In providing midwifery services, a midwife is more likely to: 1. Promotive, a midwife who is promotive means that the midwife tries to disseminate information through various media. Delivery methods, tools, targets, media, ideal time, frequency, implementers and language as well as the involvement of related agencies and informal leaders are not the same in each region, depending on the dynamics in society and our foresight to work around this so that health information can be received correctly and safely. It is important to remember that promotional efforts do not always use state funds, sometimes they are needed, sometimes not. Apart from that, the disseminationof information should be carried out continuously by utilizing existing media and developing it wherever possible so that it is interesting and easy to digest. The material presented should always be updated along with the latest developments in health science. 2. Preventive means that midwives try to prevent things, such as immunizations, weighing toddlers at Posyandu, etc. Sometimes there are groups of people who believe that babies less than 35 days old (Javanese: selapan) should not be taken out of the house.Curative means that midwives are not required to treat illnesses, especially serious illnesses. 4. Rehabilitative means that the midwife makes efforts to restore health, especially for patients who require midwifery or long-term treatment. There are several characteristics that midwives must have, namely: have insight and knowledge, have completed midwifery education, have good manners, do not discriminate between poor or rich, do not reveal patient privacy, are devoted to humanity, have ethics and morals, are fast and agile, able to serve sincerely and patiently, be friendly and skilled, not easily give up, and can carry out their rights and obligations well.Midwives have many roles, especially in carrying out practice in the community. The roles that midwives must carry out include the roles as educators, as implementers, as managers, as researchers, as empowerers, as client advocates, as collaborators, and as planners. Of these roles Midwiveshave duties and authorities that must be carried out properly and in accordance with established regulations. Reflection on Midwifery Practice Reflection on practice in midwifery services is intended as a form of guidance/reference which is a midwife's framework for providing midwifery care, influenced by the philosophy adopted by the midwife (midwifery care philosophy) including elements contained in the health paradigm (human-behavior, environment & service health).In midwifery practice, providing quality midwifery care is very necessary. The quality of midwifery is determined by the way the midwife builds relationships, both with colleagues and with the person being provided care. Efforts to improve the quality of midwifery services are also determined by the midwife's skills in communicating effectively and providing good counseling to clients.Midwives are the spearhead of providing quality services and as professional health workers, work as partnerssociety, especially the family as the smallest unit, which means that midwives have a strategic position to provide comprehensive holistic health services (sustainable, integrated and complete), which include promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative efforts in an effort to achieve the realization of a healthy paradigm. So a midwife is required to be a professional and reliable individual providing quality services because the concept of her work is related to human life.
