INTERICOSTAL NERVE 4 ATYPICAL INTERPOOSTAL NERVES THORACO ABDOMINAL N. The atypical intercostal nerves are as follows. 1st Intercostal Nerve: The greater part of this nerve joins the ventral ramus. C-8 Spinal nerve to form lower trunk of brachial plexus. The remaining part of the neme is very small and it lacks both lateral and anterior culeneous branches. 2nd Intercostal Nerve :- Its lateral Cuteneous branch is called Intercostobrachial Nerve. COURSE:- It courses across the axilla and joins the medial cuteneous branch of the arm.
