CORONARY SINUSDEFINITION:- The coronary Sinus is a collection of veinsjoined together to form a large vessel thatcollects blood from heart museles (myocardium) It deliversless -oxygenated blood to the right atrium, as do the superiorand inferior vena cava It is about 304 cm. long.DIPAHMARPOSITIONIt lies in the posterior part of theSurface Coronary sulcus (Left) between base of heart and the diaphragmaticalong with anastomosis of Rt and It Coronary arteries.Coursing within the left amoventricular grooveThis groove may be converted into a tunel by few musclefibres of the left atrium being continuous with thoseof the left ventricle.DIPANKAR RAYTRACING:- To The Right:To The Left;It ends in Right Atrium.Left vein atium embryologically continuous with the oblique vein ofbut Anatomically it's continuous with the great cardiacwhich is remnant of the Left duct of Cuvier.END & OPENING:- It opens into the right atrium betweenthe opening of Inferior vena cara, the fossa ovalis and theright atrioventricular orifice The coronary sinus is often guarded"THEBESIAN VAIVE"by a thin, semicircular endocandial fold also known asDEVELOPMENT :- and It develops from the left horn of sinusa part of the left common candinal venosus vein.
