FEMORAL ARTERYORIGINIt is the direct continuation of external iliac-artery Itbegins behind the inguinal ligament at the mid-inguinalpoint.DIPANKAR RAYCOURSE(1)In femoral Triangle In the femoral triangle 1st 3 cm.the femoral vein, in the femoral sheath. It leaves the femoralor 4 em of the vessel are enclosed, together withtriangle through the apex and enters the adductor canal,along with the saphenous nerve and nerve of vastus medialis.2.In Adductor CanalHuman Anatomy For ExamIt lies on the adducter longus and magnus and then goes to thepopliteal fossa, accompanied by vein and the posterior divisionof obturator nerve , through the 5th oscio aponeuroticopening at the insertion of adductor magnus.RELATIONS1.IN FEMORAL TRANGLE(a)Anterior Relation(i) Skin (ii) Superficial fascia(iii) Superficial inguinal lymph vessels. (iv) Superficial layer of fascia latavAnterior part of femoral sheath.In femoral sheath:- Femoral branch of genito femoral herve isat 1st in front and then lateral to the artery.Near the apex of femara Triange :- Medial femoral cutamoons nerveCrosses the artery from its lateral tomedial(b)POSTERIOR RELATION (i) Posterior part of fernoral streath(ii) Capsule of hip joint -Separated by psoas tendon.(iii) Pectineus musde- Separated by femural vein and profunda vessels.(iv) Nerre to pectineus - Passes medially behind the upper end of theartery.CLATERAL RELATIONFemoral Nerre.(d)RELATED WITH FEMORAL VEINIn upper part of the triangle femoralvein lies medial to the artery butin lower part posterior to the artery.
