HEAD OF PANCREAS Cont ARTERIAL SUPPLY :-(i) Anterior and Posterior superior are branches of the Gastroduodenal (from Coleliac trunk). panoratico-dudenal Artery-which - (ii) Anterior which and Posterior of Inferior pancreatico-dudenal Artery, are brandres Superior mesenteric Amery. VENOUS DRAINAGE Drain into the portal vein via pancreatico duderal anterior veins. and posterior Superior (ii) Drain into the superior mesenteric veins ria anterior DIPANKAR RAY and posterior inferior panoratiro-dudenal - veins. LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE :- Head and med drain into ventral and dorsal groups of panoeatico-dudenal lymph nodes. APPLIED ANATOMY Por (A Sometimes annular type of head of pancreas encircles the abdomen. In such condition if the pancreas is diseased-it produces duodenal obstruction. B Head of the pancreas is an occasional Seat of Carcinoma. Malignant growth may abstruct the bile duct producing jaundice.
