(pg. 246) Because I am a public speaker and I am never sure how to construct a response after I am asked a question, this is something that is very essential to me. I never seem to be able to speak without faltering or pausing for emphasis. A lot of the time, I won't even make an attempt to respond to the question because I'm terrified of hearing their reaction or of someone correcting me when they think I'm incorrect. The audience's concentration can be maintained by either restating or paraphrasing the question. If I explain it to them once more, they are able to comprehend what the primary principles are. When I am not in school and attempting to think of a clever response to someone, I will keep this in mind. When I am participating in a discussion, I can use this. In order to counter their primary argument, I need to zero in on what they are trying to say. In this manner, it will have an even greater effect on the people who are watching. In addition to that, I can use this to check that what I'm going to say makes logic before I actually say it. The significance of pausing to reflect before responding to a question that may be asked during a presentation or lecture is the topic that is being addressed by this citation. Before providing a response to a question posed by a member of the audience, it is critical to make certain that you have a thorough comprehension of the query in its entirety. To accomplish this, the speaker can either take a moment to rephrase the question or repeat it back to the audience member in order to make certain that they comprehend the complete nature of the enquiry.
