ROSHAAN AMEER DISCUSSION PUBLIC SPEAKING ''You should be able to state your specific purpose in a single infinitive phrase (“to inform my audience about . . .”; “to persuade my audience to . . .”) that indicates precisely what you hope to accomplish with your speech''. PG.80 The text I selected is important to me as a public speaker because it shows and explains to me that you can get to the main topic of what you're talking about in a quick manner without adding too much words and extra things. This quote from the text gives good ways on how to persuade the audience in a precise manner on how to explain the main point that you're trying to convey to them. From the text that I chose, I will apply this while I'm in the course rather than outside of it. It will help me be able to get straight to the point when I bring up a topic and get the audience more intrigued when I talk. I tend to use a lot of extra words and sentences when I talk about a certain topic which tends to lead the audience members in a different direction.
