URIC ACID EXAMINATION Examination of blood uric acid levels a. Point of care Test (POCT) Point of care Test is a simple examination tool designed only for examination with capillary blood samples, not serum or plasma samples. Uric acid using this method is measured using a specific catalyst. A set of POCT tools consists of: 1) Blood uric acid meter, is a uric acid measuring device that has a screen to display the inspection results 2) Blood uric acid test strip, which is a strip for each examination, is available zone for placing the specimen attached to the measuring device (Blood uric acid meter) 3) Lancing device and lancet, needle for taking peripheral blood samples. Practicum a. Tools and materials : Ingredients: Bayer RA.50, Tips, Tissue, Serum, Uric Acid Reagent, Uric Acid Standard Equipment: 0 µl and 1000 µl micropipette, Test tubes and tube rack, Clinical photometer b. Work procedures : 1) Blood collection Approximately 1 ml of blood is taken, then the blood is centrifuged rotation at 4000 rpm for 15 minutes to obtain blood serum. 2) Measurement of blood uric acid levels a) Set the instrument to zero with a reagent blank. b) Put it in a cuvette. c) Homogenize d) Incubate 10 minutes at room temperature or 5 minutes at 37oC e) Read the sample absorption at a wavelength of 546nm Uric acid (mg/dl) = (ÿ A sample ÿ ÿ A standard) x Cons.
