Biography

Ayn Rand born in Russia in 1905. She was writer whose commercially effective novels persuading individualism and capitalism were influential among right-wingers and libertarians and it was popular for youth generations in the USA from the middle of the twentieth century . Her dad was a thriving druggist. After being mentored at home, Alissa Rosenbaum, the oldest of 3 children, was sign in an innovator educational institution , where she shined intellectual but was socially remote. Following the Russian Revolution of 1917, her father’s store was impound by communist officials, an event she greatly resented. As a student , she studied history and became familiarized with the works of Plato and Aristotle. After graduating in 1924, she enrolled in the State Institute for Cinematography, expecting to become a screenwriter. Ayn Rand go to the USA in 1926 and tried to establish herself in Hollywood. Her first novel, We the Living, advocated her refusal of collectivist values in favor of individualism, a belief that became more explicit with her subsequent novels The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. Following the huge success of the latter, Rand promoted her philosophy of Objectivism through courses, speechs and written works. She died in New York City on March 6, 1982.

Characters

Equality 7-2521(Main Character): He is a man of unwavering independent living in a totalitarian state. The state commands him to be a Street Sweeper, but he performs research on his own. He discovers the electric light, and hopes to lead the establishment of a freer society.

Synopsis

In a loveless world, Equaltity dared to love the woman of his choice.

He lived in the Dark Ages of the future.

In an age that had lost all trace of science and civilization, he had the courage to seek and find knowledge.

Equality lives in an individualist society. In this society do things that do not involve others is a sin. In a forsaken underground passage he do their experiments and investigations. In the fields he meet a woman called Liberty. When he talks to her he breaks a law. He is not one of her brothers. Though their language has no concepts, he understands that he is someone special for her. He asks himself about the secrets were of the Unmentionable Times. He knows that the Unspeakable Word must not be re discovered. He has seen the destiny of who discovers this word. He was burned on the pyre. Before the flames consumed him, the Transgressor looked at him to believes that the Transgressor look at him to pass on some sacred knowledge that he alone possessed. In his research, Equality discovers the power of the sky.He believes that the people of that period understood this, and that they had somehow take advantage of it to power their gadgets.

Plot

In a dark age without love, Equality found a forsaken tunnel and conceal in it to do their experiments and investigations, knows his loneliness violates all the laws. He wanted to be a scholar. When he was assign to be Sweet Sweeper, he was pleased because it meant he could make amends for the sins he had committed. When he was a child he saw the execution of the Transgressor of the Unspeakable Word, he burned to death in the pyre. While he was burning, he looked Equality. He believes that that moment blessed him as a disciple of the same crusade. Equality begins to conduct experiments and find electrical energy. He builds a lightbulb. He decides to present it to the World Council of Scholars. During this time, Equality has met Liberty. He knows it is wrong to do so, but he speaks to her when he gets the chance, and they immediately fall in love. Equality returns late to the Home of the Street Sweepers. When he decline to tell his Home Council where he has been, he is thrown into the Palace of Corrective Detention. There he is tormented. When Equality arrives and tells the World Council his story, however, the World Council deny him out. He grabs his invention and leave the city. He go to the Uncharted Forest. Liberty followed him into the woods. They promise to live together in peace and solitude. He find the definition of the word and he promise to keep safe his home and from there float a new competition of men who will trust in independence and the never-ending reign of the ego.

I think that it was to motivated us to be independent

In the story the main character do a lot of sins that breaks the law of the society. But then they do very interesting discovers about electricity

One significant episode could be the Chapter 1
