Background of Christianity
First off we need to understand what Christianity is before other topics can be discussed Christianity is a monotheistic religion meaning that they only follow one god. Christianity is one of the most followed religions in the whole world with about 2.1 billion followers globally and has been existent for over 2000 years.
Religious Experience Definition
To be religious means that you are a follower of a god or multiple gods. Some religions follow one god however others follow multiple gods. These are called monotheistic and polytheistic religions. So a religion is something that you follow and to be religious means that you are a follower. An experience is something or more likely an event that is observed or encountered by an individual. When we put both Religion and an experience together we get a Religious experience. A religious experience is an experience that is interpreted in a religious way where god is usually intertwined during the experience.

When did Christianity begin?
In the bible (acts 2 and 4) it explains that through Pentecost it began. “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”(acts 2:4). This bible verse is pretty much telling us how Christianity began. Then from the Pentecost comes peters speech to the crowd. During this speech, Peter begins to say “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”(acts 2:17). In this bible passage, it describes what God says will happen and what they will all experience.
Christianity in the time of the Middle Ages and today
Christianity in the Middle Ages compared to Christianity today are very different in many ways. Back in the time before Jesus, women's rights and the moral standards were very bad. Women weren’t allowed to speak in public and especially when men were around , but now in today’s society men and women are treated with the same respect, and both genders have equal rights.
Christianity’s good contributions
Christians in today’s modern society have made many commendable contributions. A lot of these contributions have helped the suffering people or in need of assistance in some way. Some of these contributions include their big impact on healthcare and education, the man himself Martin Luther, Christmas and The basic moral standards. As we all know, December 25th is Christmas but more importantly Jesus Christs Birthday do therefore I believe Christmas can also be included in this list as it brings happiness to most children around the world during the December period. Martin Luther has had a major impact on today’s Christian society . Back in the time before Jesus, women were treated very poorly, such as when they were in public they were to not speak, however when Jesus came through he set better moral standards.
