In the film ‘Pay It Forward’ directed by Mimi Leder, an assignment is given to an 11-year-old boy in his social studies class to find an idea to change the world and put it into action. Trevor takes to hear challenge and starts a cycle of good deeds that truly change the world. Leder offers a vital message to empower and encourage people to take action for the better, and through logos pathos and ethos, she does so.

To start with logos is a clear concise and rational way of portraying the message of the writer that is to take action. For instance, at the beginning of the film, the daughter of the lawyer has an asthma attack and cannot breathe and is ignored by the nurse. The stab wound survivor, however, claimed that his injury was not life-threatening, so they handled the young girl first earlier in the film that the wounded man was rescued by a very important woman who paid it forward, which was explained to the man at the time after he asked why she saved him. Mr. Simone answers by asking, “Wouldn't you ever do what you'd ever do to change the world? Well, Trevor, I get a good night's sleep, I have a hearty meal, I turn up on time and then pass the buck to you”. That being said, his title alone makes him valid as the instructor of social studies, but he also uses speech to offer a meaning to this task. While his answer does not seem all that important in the last few words when his states passed the buck to you. They are also constrained because they will one day have the opportunity to be free because of their age, someone who cannot be held back by someone else except themselves.

Pathos is used to tap into the emotions of the reader, and one being is to improve the world by acts of kindness to help their case. Without his mom thinking about it, Trevor encourages him to get back on his feet, and that is where a paying it forward speaking, even so Trevor later claims that he filled jerry returns to his feet after a fall-out. When a second chance is given to Jerry, he meets a lady standing on the edge of the bridge, he tries to help the lady, but she thinks he is after her money, and he probably would have taken it earlier to get his next hit, but he changed thanks to travel. He just wants to pay it forward to support her and himself there for help if he can save her life, it might only save his life.

When Trevor begins the impact of paying it forward because of the good works of Trevor, there was an inquiry by a reporter Chandler to find out where the pay it forward idea rooted from little did, they know it was brought up by an 11-year-old boy.

The message of the film ‘Pay It Forward’ is to encourage and inspire people to take action through acts of kindness. If someone supports you, you pass it on to those who need your support.
