Introduction

In the beginning, God created Heaven and Earth and He created man in His image. He put Man to sleep and created out of his rib, a woman as a helpmate and companion for Adam. As we know they were only forbidden to eat from the Tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. They ate and then realized that they were naked. The realization of physical nakedness is the first time they appreciate their own vulnerabilities. God said if they eat, they will surely die. This was not physical death, but spiritual death. Awakening the conscience to what is right and wrong. Therefore, the book of Hebrews said that death entered this world with one man and Christ had to die to become the propitiation for our sins. “O death where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?’”The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! 1 Corinthians 15:55-57

Jesus Christ being resurrected is the assurance that we have that death has been defeated as we read in the book of Romans 6:9. As the human race, we have one enemy death which is the rightful punishment for each individual's sins. Romans 6:23. Every human being must die, and no amount of money treatment, or power can rescue a person from death. However, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ could not be held by death and He rose so that we no longer need to have to dread death because He has prevailed over it

Jesus Christ's resurrection has made it possible for sinners to be reunited with Him 2 Corinthians 4:14. As believers in Christ, we are joined to him by our faith, and therefore when God looks at us, He sees Jesus and not our unrighteousness. Jesus is the righteous one through whom we are made righteous. Therefore, Romans 6:8 says that those who have died with Him will also live with Him. In so doing we walk as if our lives are anew because we are joined to Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit Romans 6:4. Baptism is symbolic of this and it is demonstrated in the physical, how we die in the spiritual and are raised with Christ. We know that if our Lord had not risen from the dead, then our Father God’s plan for the redemption of the world would not have been possible This is made clear in 1 Corinthians 15:17 “…if Christ has not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!” Through Christ’s resurrection, we can live as if we never sinned because we have been justified by His death Rom. 4:25. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,” Col. 1:13. He disarmed principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them in triumph Col. 2:15. “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” Romans 4:25 The meaning of justification is to be put right with.” Humanity needed to be put right with God because of the sins that were committed which also separates us from God and prevents us from having a relationship with our Heavenly father Romans 6:28, Isaiah 59:2. Without Jesus has come to die for our sins and having been resurrected, we would still be lost and without an avenue by which we could have a relationship with God.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ concurs with the old writings in Isaiah 53 and Psalm 16. These are some of the many scriptures that prophesied regarding the Messiah and His resurrection The resurrection of Jesus Christ proves the gospel to be true 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. The fact that Jesus is alive today means that He can save us today. Paul has this as his chief argument in 1 Corinthians 15 and defends the authenticity of the resurrection and that the whole gospel depends on it: Furthermore, if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain…and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. This would mean that those who had already passed on in Christ have gone lost. Paul highlights in 1 Corinthians 15:14; 17-19 that the resurrection is an immensely important part of the gospel and it is seen as the glue holding the gospel together. Paul says that without the resurrection, we as Christians are hopeless and believe in vain. Christ’s resurrection has given us hope that our sins can be forgiven and that we can be united to God and enjoy eternal life with Him, by Christ.

As Christians, we have a living hope through the knowledge that Jesus Christ has been resurrected. This allows us to be forgiven for our sins and to be right before God. Christians are converted from being far away from God, having no relationship with Him and destined for eternal damnation, to becoming sons and daughters that have been forgiven and that will inherit eternal life in heaven. There is no greater message than that which God had done according to His wonderful mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you 1 Peter 1:3-4 We are assured that we will also one day be raised like Jesus. He is pronounced as the first fruit of the resurrection from the dead, which means that his resurrection is an indication of the resurrection that awaits all those who believe (1 Corinthians 15:20) and 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 explains, “For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.” Christians will enjoy the resurrected life just like Christ did, with glorified bodies raised in power (1 Corinthians 15:42-44). We may suffer in this life with many pains and illnesses, but in the life to come, we will not suffer, but enjoy the perfect bodies we have always longed for. In the book of Romans 1:4, we read that Christ was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead. Jesus would have been no better than millions before Him and millions after Him who died and were not raised from the dead. However, as we know this is not what happened. God raised Him from the dead and this is proof that He is the Son of the living God. (Gomes, 2017)

This implication of the resurrection means that Christ will judge the world in righteousness. The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this, he has given assurance to all by raising Him from the dead Acts 17:30-31. All of the people of the world will one day be judged for the things they have done and be held accountable before God. Unbelievers will be held accountable for breaking God’s law, facing the condemnation of God, and going to hell. Believers will be held accountable for the things they have done and will be rewarded by God in heaven based on their actions as believers. The sign God gave to confirm this fact was the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. If you do not believe in Jesus Christ, this judgment should be a cause for tremendous fear. You will face the wrath of God and suffer an eternity in hell because of the sins you have committed. But this judgment does not have to be a thing to dread. The way to obtain forgiveness and eternal life is by believing in Jesus and turning from your sin. Believing in Jesus is what makes all of the benefits of the resurrection yours. Faith is what unites us with Christ and allows us to be saved from our sins. (Warnock, 2016)I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. (John 11:25-26)

Conclusion

The resurrection of Jesus is at the heart of the Christian message. Without the resurrection, Jesus’ ministry ends in defeat and disappointment (Luke 24:21). But everything changed because the tomb is empty and He has risen from the dead, just as he said” (Matthew 28:6). The resurrection concludes the passion narrative in all four Gospels because it is at the center of redemption itself. Without it, one can only pity Jesus as a dead martyr whose lofty ideals were sadly misunderstood. With it, one must stand in awe of the exalted Messiah, the Son of the living God, who gave His life as a ransom for many, who presently reigns at God’s right hand, and who will one day return in glory to fix this broken world.
