Poverty is a major problem facing Kenya as a country. In this project, I will be tackling the causes of poverty in Kenya. I will be explaining the causes of poverty in Kenya; basically, that will be my main discussion.
First, I will start by identifying the factors that cause poverty in Kenya. Secondly, I will be giving relevant examples with detailed information supporting the causes that I have started and finally, I will be giving my conclusions on every points hence resulting in final remarks about the causes of poverty in Kenya.
I will also be answering the questions: how, why and what are the causes of poverty in Kenya. My project will entirely be using Kenya as a case study and not beyond.
Last but not least I will be finalizing the entire discussion with a conclusion concerning the causes of poverty in Kenya at large.
My first point to be discussed will be low food production and marketing. Here I will be talking about how the production of food in Kenya does meet the population in Kenya. Some of the things that I will be discussing in this cause of poverty will be; the use of old-fashioned methods in farming that results to low farm produce, I will also discuss about how the poor marketing strategy of the farmer and the Kenyan government has made the product to spoil and hence making the farmer poorer than they were before the harvesting the farm produce. Like how the ignorance of the farmers and the government has made both of them lose a lot from the local and foreign market. I will discuss in finality how low food production and marketing have been one of the major causes of poverty in Kenya.
I will break the point into two parts, the first part will be the low production of food and how it is causing poverty in Kenya. I will be giving detailed accounts supporting the arguments and the second bit will be marketing. Here I will be talking about how the lack of good marketing of the product has made Kenya and the people practicing farming poorer.
The second point that I will be tackling the causes of poverty in Kenya will be unemployment and low wages. Unemployment is one of the root course affecting the Kenyan government. It is giving the leaders sleepless nights since the people that are mostly affected are the youths and they are the ones who are the most populated in Kenya. Lack of employment is dangerous to the society as it leads to an increase of crime in the community and immorality in Kenya this is as stated by (Oluoko-Odingo, 2009). This is just but the tip of the iceberg of what I will be tackling. I will also discuss how low wages have made the Kenyan person do the donkey work and what they get in return are just peanuts. I will also give a summary of how unemployment has made the poor to be poorer since they work not to invest but to settle bills.
Here I will be talking about the general causes of unemployment in support to the main point which is unemployment and low wages and how they are causing more poverty to Kenya. First, I will tackle unemployment and give supporting points and examples then I will explain the low wages and how they harm the life of the Kenyan person.
And finally, my third point will be talking about rural-urban migration. Here I will simply be discussing how people move to the developed towns expecting to make their lives better than the one they had in the village only to find out that towns are the ones with a bigger problem. I will showcase how congestion in urban centers has made difficult for the unemployed to secure a job. I will be pointing out key points that have led to more poverty in Kenya. How congestion in urban centers has led to poor service delivery in Kenya and also it has led to the eruption of slums urban centers.
Rural-urban migration is the biggest challenge to the Kenyan government since it has no control over it. The problem is that the unemployed person mind thinks that it is in urban centers that there are all the opportunities. I will also give a conclusion on how rural-urban migration has made it difficult for Kenya to develop and languish behind in poverty.
Here, I will discuss how rural-urban migration has caused more poverty in Kenya. Give few examples concerning rural-urban migration that causes more harm to the people than good.
Finally, will be a conclusion. Here I will be giving a summary of what I would have discussed. It will be a brief account of what I will have discussed nothing more nothing less.
